Electrolysis involves the use of a sterilised, disposable sterile probe that is inserted into the hair follicle. An electrical current is applied to the papilla of the hair, cauterising the root and destroying the blood supply to the hair. The hair then gently slides out of removed the follicle. Your hair will not grow back because the hair root (dermal papilla) is permanently destroyed.

How Electrolysis Works
The hair follicle is a tube-like depression of the skin that contains each hair. The Dermal Papilla is the root/bulb of the hair that controls the growth & development of the hair. Tweezing or waxing will remove the hair, but the dermal papilla remains, therefore another hair will grow in its place. Electrolysis hair removal is the process of removing hair permanently by means of an electrical current.
A fine probe is inserted into the hair follicle to the dermal papilla and a thermal electrical current is applied that destroys the papilla. The hair then simply slides out of the follicle painlessly with tweezers.
In some cases, two or more treatments to each follicle may be necessary to achieve permanency, this will be dependent on the stage of growth of each individual hair. Once the dermal papilla has been eliminated, further hair growth from the follicle is not possible, resulting in a smooth hairless area.
